In 2013 despite eating a "healthy" diet, and exercising regularly as per government guidelines, we discovered the food we were eating was making us ill.


We were poisoning ourselves daily, and not even realising.  And you could be too!


We were slowly putting on weight and having it plateau, had low energy levels, felt stressed, unproductive, had random aches and pains (especially in the wrist and ankle joints), and generally felt "meh" for no obvious reason.


So, we decided to conduct a little experiment over 10 weeks.  We were generally healthy when we started this experiment (apart from Andrea's eczema that she'd had from childhood, and the depression since 1999).


For 10 weeks, we changed the food we ate.  


We ditched the sugar and the processed foods, and made a conscious decision to eat well, choosing more vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts and seeds, healthy fats, and less meat - a palm sized portion with some meals.  We chose organic and grass-fed whenever possible.


We also stopped eating dairy, wheat, pasta, rice, bread, and white potatoes.


After 10 weeks, the results were astounding!!  For example:


  • weight loss - without even trying and without wasting 3+ hours a week in the gym
  • increased energy levels
  • better quality, more restful, sleep
  • joint aches disappeared
  • reduced likelihood of type 2 diabetes
  • mental health improved - reduced anxiety, less to no mind-racing, able to 'switch off', reduced effects of depression, generally felt calmer and less self-critical
  • mental clarity - productivity at work and focus on getting things done improved massively
  • eczema disappeared completely


All this in ONLY 10 WEEKS!!


Since then we've continued to reduce our toxic load and discovering more about how food affects us:  mind, body & soul, and are well on the way to becoming qualified nutrition advisors so that we can help others.


We're also conscious of the damage being done to the planet and its natural resources through intensive farming and fishing.  To this end, we are working towards becoming 100% plant based, and reducing the toxins in our environment - at home and at work.
